Almost Live! - Me!
About
Dave Grohl appeared on the Seattle based sketch show for the second time in February 1996, his first appearance being two years previous. In this episode he appears on a faux episode of Me!, a satirical take on the late night chat show format featuring an egotistical host (Me) whose shtick is that she is smarter than everyone else and frequently gets into arguments with her guests.
The role of Me was played by Seattle comedian Nancy Guppy and in this "episode" she insists Dave perform a song for her. Dave plays 'Big Me' but as he arrives at the chorus Guppy's character stops him and suggests that the chord he played "should have been an A minor". Dave assures her it should be a C, as he wrote the song, but the disagreement continues with Guppy's character grabbing the guitar by the neck and breaking it in half.
Dave tells her the guitar was a gift from Tom Petty but she is unfazed, asking Dave if he can get her tickets to Petty's show. In the next segment of the show host John Keister reads out satirical news items and is interrupted by Dave, asking him to make sure the guitar is repaired.
Dave also appears in the closing credits of the episode.
